Welcome to Weather-Above
This project is to convert a extra temperature sensor for a Oregon Scientific Wireless weather station Model WMR928NX to Record the activity of each  rain duration

Rain duration project for Temperature Probe  :: THC238
Rain duration  sensor complete with automated heater

As soon as the rain has stopped the heater will quickly  dry  the surface and trigger stopped raining icon To help with the morning dew  there is a tiny piece of exorbitant  cloth which contains a mixture of fibres  this is held in position with two spring clips As soon as the morning dew falls this well activate the heater ,this will keep the level Of dew point below the trigger thresholds set for rain Outlook ,

Rain duration  sensor mod 2
07/07/2008
The heater sensor has been
replaced with a more substantial module
The one wire rain gauge has a mechanism inside which is like a seesaw , this allows a tipping action to occur when the device receives 0.2 mm of rain it tips and a small magnet moves over a glass reed switch which is connected to a counter , as indicated in the dark blue data line this tells you how much rain we have had for the day , weather display software resets this to 0 at 12 o'clock midnight

Quick view of the Rain duration data

The light blue data line is the recording of the rain duration sensor , as soon as any moisture falls on the sensing plate it indicates to weather display software it is raining, if there is fine rain/drizzle the sensing plate will have a high reading, if the rain droplets become heavier there is less moisture on the sensing plate. In the chart the rainfall starts this as very light, drizzle rain is indicated in the pale blue band number (60-45) after some time the rain starts to get heavier this is indicated in the next light blue band indicated by number (44-40) after some more time it stopped raining and goes straight down to (0) which is indicated in the pale green{33-0} this is giving information about the first downpour.

The second downpour starts to rain heavier and stays in the band of light blue{ 44-40} after a period of time it starts to get very heavy this is indicated in the blue band {37-34 } it stays there for quite some time and indicating that this was the heaviest part of the rainfall occurred.
