Malcolm, with wife Jenny Cleaver, recently held a Fair Trade coffee morning to raise funds for the excellent services provided by MacMillan Cancer Support.
Inviting locals, neighbours and friends from New Life Christian Fellowship to their home in Llanteg, Jenny and Malcolm served Fair Trade tea, coffee and biscuits to visitors. They also hosted a Traidcraft Stall selling Fair Trade goods.
The event was organised for very personal reasons, as five years ago Malcolm was given the dreaded news of having bowel cancer.
Thankfully, after successful treatments and care, Malcolm has recently been given the all clear and hopes this will be the end off a very difficult time.
He and wife Jenny wanted to show their support to others affected by cancer by holding a coffee morning for Macmillan:
"I know what it is like to have cancer. My faith in the Lord Jesus helped sustain me, I want to give thanks to Him. MacMillan Cancer Support provides such excellent care to cancer patients and their families and we wanted to show our appreciation for all that they do too." said Malcolm.
The total funds raised for A MacMillan Cancer Support was a generous £135, with £30 of Traidcraft goods also sold on the day.
Malcolm and Jenny thanked everyone for their support saying:
"It was lovely to meet our neighbours and people from our local community and gain their support for such a worthy cause. We are very thankful to all who came along and supported us."
