Carefully remove the circuit board from your old rain gauge Oregon Scientific Wireless Model WMR928NX, Very important to keep the cable intact, The next step is to cut the reed switch you need to leave a small amount of the reed switch wire attached to the circuit board you going to use this to attach your new cables you only need two wires
These two wires attached to the Davis rain gauge you may need to use a multimeter to check that you are using the right wires coming from the reed switch is just simply a on off circuit using a magnet that passes over the reed switch,

Please be aware that the Davies ll rain gauge sensor comes in two tipping sizes metric and imperial you can convert the Imperial tipping mechanism using an add-on weight which will convert the tipping to metric but I recommend buying the device ready calibrated to either metric or imperial depending on your preferences
Note: The Davies ll metric version, product number 7852M, comes factory calibrated to take measurements in 0.2 mm. There is no need to install the metric measurement adapter. If you have purchased a US version, the rain collector tipping bucket mechanism contains a standard measurement weight magnet that takes measurements in 0.01” for every tip of the bucket

In weather display software you are going to need to make sure that the tipping calibration offset is correct to the type of Davies rain gauge you're using there are two types millimetres and inches .if you are converting a Imperial US Davies ll rain gauge to millimetres you need to set a new tipping point in weather display 0.254 mm
Imperial tip size is 0.01 converting to millimetres
Millimetres tip size in weather display should equal 0.254
